HIDE AND SEEK
By R.Duncan Heinly

It’s hide and seek with higher stakes at the house just two doors down.
The ten year old tormented child trying not to be found
Sworn to keep the secret and feeling all the blame
Taking responsibility for what’s more than just a game

For three years it’s been going on and he hasn’t told a soul
Angrily he suspects that his mother surely knows
It tears him up to think that he, by telling someone outside
Could tear apart the family. So once again he hides.

Strange behavior seen at school raises up red flags
The teacher calls a conference with the mom and dad
Explanations sweep the truth away with outright lies
Any hope of his salvation fades away and dies

Who will save this troubled child? What, Lord, can we do?
How can we be certain we have ascertained the truth?
I pray, Lord, for the children all across the land
Taking responsibility for what they don’t understand

Years have passed, the child is grown, the damage has been done
Living with anxiety, lost and all alone.
Floods of mixed emotions torment him every day
Praying to an unknown God to take it all away

Who can save this troubled man? Lord it can only be You.
Reveal Your love and mercy and bring freedom by Your Truth
I pray for grown up children all across this land
Caught in sinful cycles that they just don’t understand

When God Comes In Revival By Charles G. Finney

A revival breaks the power of the world and of sin over Christians. It brings them to such vantage ground that they get a fresh impulse toward heaven. They have a new foretaste of heaven and new desires after union with God; and the charm of the world is broken, and the power of sin overcome.
When the churches are thus awakened and reformed, the reformation and salvation of sinners will follow, going through the same stages of conviction, repentance, and reformation. Their hearts will be broken down and changed. Very often the most abandoned profligates are among the subjects. Harlots and drunkards and infidels and all sorts of abandoned characters are awakened and converted. The worst among human beings are softened, and reclaimed, and made to appear as lovely specimens of the beauty of holiness.
"O Lord, revive thy work in the midst of the years, in the midst of the years make known, in wrath remember mercy" ( Hab. 3:2).
