HELP ME I'VE FALLEN AND I CAN'T GET UP

The sun rises on another day
Can you hear the cries on the brokenhearted
Who will take all this pain away
HELP ME I'VE FALLEN AND I CAN'T GET UP

Empty faces on the crowded streets
Can you hear the cries on the brokenhearted
Longing to end their captivity
HELP ME I'VE FALLEN AND I CAN'T GET UP

From Adam’s sin to the present day
Can you hear the cries on the brokenhearted
Alll we like sheep have gone astray
HELP ME I'VE FALLEN AND I CAN'T GET UP

HELP ME I'VE FALLEN AND I CAN'T GET UP
From the pit I have dug with my own hands
HELP ME I'VE FALLEN AND I CAN'T GET UP
Somebody help me please
HELP ME I'VE FALLEN AND I CAN'T GET UP
Caught in a pattern of endless cycles
HELP ME I'VE FALLEN AND I CAN'T GET UP
Somebody set me free

Sin’s overcast leaves the world in darkness
Can you hear the cries on the brokenhearted
Only God’s love can break through the hardness
HELP ME I'VE FALLEN AND I CAN'T GET UP

The Savior climbed the hill of sorrows
And took the place of the brokenhearted
And made a way to eternal freedom
Lifting the fallen who could not get up

SURVIVOR

I am a survivor of trials and troubles

I have seen sorrow and misery

But my Lord God is a Mighty Warrior

He triumphs over the enemy

I am a survivor in a world that's fallen

I'm an overcomer through Christ in me

Who can come against me if God is for me

Jesus Christ has got the victory!

When the waters rise

He is there, He is there

When the floods of life break through

When the waters rise

He is there, He is there

He is there to see me through

When the fires rage

He is there, He is there

When everything burns up as fuel

When the fires rage

He is there, He is there

He is there to see me through

I am a survivor of trials and troubles

I have seen sorrow and misery

But my Lord God is a Mighty Warrior

He triumphs over the enemy

I am a survivor in a world that's fallen

I'm an overcomer through Christ in me

Who can come against me if God is for me

Jesus Christ has got the victory!

When temptation comes

He is there, He is there

And His Word reveals His Truth

When temptation comes

He is there, He is there

He is there to see me through

When the pressure comes

He is there, He is there

When the world becomes unglued

When the pressure comes

He is there, He is there

He is there to see me through

I am a survivor of trials and troubles

I have seen sorrow and misery

But my Lord God is a Mighty Warrior

He triumphs over the enemy

I am a survivor in a world that's fallen

I'm an overcomer through Christ in me

Who can come against me if God is for me

Jesus Christ has got the victory!

Sound The Call

It's a day unlike any other
A new day to be alive
Our life is a great adventure
So let's not live just to survive
As true followers of Jesus
Wear the armor of the Lord
Since the Lord has gone before us
We won't stop, we're moving forward

Raise your voices, overcomers
Yes, all you who now are free
Jesus is our Mighty Savior
We declare His victory!
Blood washed saints shout out His praises
Raise His Standard; lift it high.
Sound the call to follow Jesus
Shout aloud the battle cry:
Jesus Christ is Lord! Jesus Christ is my Lord
Jesus Christ is Lord over the nations
Jesus Christ is Lord! Jesus Christ is my Lord
Jesus Christ is Lord of all creation

Dangerous living; fully trusting
Our Strong tower and our Shield
When we follow Him in service
There His glory is revealed
Though the battles may be many
Standing midst adversity
Though the whole world come against me
Greater is He that is in me.

Raise your voices, overcomers
Yes, all you who now are free
Jesus is our Mighty Savior
We declare His victory!
Blood washed saints shout out His praises
Raise His Standard; lift it high.
Sound the call to follow Jesus
Shout aloud the battle cry:
Jesus Christ is Lord! Jesus Christ is my Lord
Jesus Christ is Lord over the nations
Jesus Christ is Lord! Jesus Christ is my Lord
Jesus Christ is Lord of all creation

Enter in His joy filled Presence
Dive down deep within His love
Hands raised up in full surrender
With expectation from above
Saturated with His passion
Overflow with grace and truth
As witnesses of transformation
Our lives—His testiments of proof

Reaching out across the nations
Reaching out across the street
With the Truth, the Hope, the Healing
Word of Life to those we meet
Like a city on a hilltop
That is seen for miles and miles
May our lives shine ever brighter
Even in our darkest trials

Raise your voices, overcomers
Yes, all you who now are free
Jesus is our Mighty Savior
We declare His victory!
Blood washed saints shout out His praises
Raise His Standard; lift it high.
Sound the call to follow Jesus
Shout aloud the battle cry:
Jesus Christ is Lord! Jesus Christ is my Lord
Jesus Christ is Lord over the nations
Jesus Christ is Lord! Jesus Christ is my Lord
Jesus Christ is Lord of all creation

With a love beyond our thinking
In height and width and depth and length
Living Waters, like a River
In abundance flowing free
Listen to the Spirit’s leading
Following the Father’s will
Loving selflessly in Jesus
By the Spirit’s overfill

Raise your voices, overcomers
Yes, all you who now are free
Jesus is our Mighty Savior
We declare His victory!
Blood washed saints shout out His praises
Raise His Standard; lift it high.
Sound the call to follow Jesus
Shout aloud the battle cry:
Jesus Christ is Lord! Jesus Christ is my Lord
Jesus Christ is Lord over the nations
Jesus Christ is Lord! Jesus Christ is my Lord
Jesus Christ is Lord of all creation

BECAUSE YOU LOVE US

I am overwhelmed with wonder when I consider all You've done
In the splendor of Your beauty I am broken and undone
I'm amazed that You Who made all things would call to me by name
Since I heard Your Voice I've never been the same

Because You love me, I love You Lord
For all that You've forgiven me, I'll love You all the more
Because You love me, and gave Your Only Son
With the power of love, together make us one

With Your Presence come upon us; with the fullness of pure joy
With the light of Your Kingdom we together now rejoice
Drawn together with one passion, with One Truth and by Your grace
With holy longing to see You Face to face

Because You love us, we love You Lord
For all that You've forgiven us, we will love You all the more
Because You love us and gave Your only Son
With the power of love, together make us one

Make us one in spirit, make us one in heart
Make us one to glorify the Awesome God You are
Make us one in hope, make us one in love
Make us one to magnify
The King of Kings and Lord of Lords
The King of Kings and Lord of Lords

Because You love us, we love You Lord
For all that You've forgiven us, we will love You all the more
Because You love us and gave Your only Son
With the power of love together make us one
With the power of love together make us one -- make us one
With the power of love together make us one

UNVEILED FACES

Boldly let us come with unveiled faces
Boldly before the Throne of Grace
Nothing to hide before the One Who sees inside
Boldly come to Him today
No hidden motives or illusions
No secret sins--He sees it all
Nothing you say can surprise Him
He knows where you'll stand and where you'll fall

He knew you from the beginning
He's seen everything you've done
And so loved you that He gave His Only Son
To heal the brokenhearted
To seek and save the lost
For you He went and died upon the cross
And rose declaring it was worth the cost

Honestly come gather at His table
Confess your faults that you may be healed
Be willing to lay down your reputation
There is freedom found in truth revealed
May the church be one of restoration
A safe haven for those who have no hope
Freed from fear of carnal condemnation
A family of healing grace and hope

He knew you from the beginning
He's seen everyuthing you've done
And so loved you that He gave His Only Son
To heal the brokenhearted
To seek and save the lost
For you He went and died upon the cross
And rose declairing it was worth the cost

If the Father can forgive us for the things that we have done
Who are we, now delivered, to point the finger at anyone
Grace and truth in full measure, compassion without compromise
Receivers of God's mercy Minister to broken lives

He knew you from the beginning
He's seen everything you've done
And so loved you that He gave His Only Son
To heal the broken hearted
To seek and save the lost
For you He went and died upon the cross
And rose declairing it was worth the cost

Lord, Here I Am

Lord, here I am
Humbly I stand
In honor of Who You are
My soul cries to You
In spirit and truth
As I worship with all my heart

Holy are You Lord, so worthy
To be worshipped and adored. Almighty
Lord of all the earth and heavens
My Savior and my Friend

Lord I have come
Not by what I have done
But by grace through faith in You
The cross paid the way
To come to You today
And that's what I choose to do

Holy are You Lord, so worthy
To be worshipped and adored. Almighty
Lord of all the earth and heavens
My Savior and my Friend

Holy are You Lord, so worthy
To be worshoipped and adored. Almighty
Lord of all the earth and heavens
My Savior and my Friend

Lord I have come
Not by what I have done
But by grace through faith in You

FAITHFUL TO FINISH

Lord, I bring You this broken life, unable to stand on my own
Once lonely, rejected, and wounded, left out on my own
Lord, I bring You this broken life wounded by choices I’ve made
The way that seemed right was so wrong, I was so far away
But You opened my eyes when I gave You my heart
And You’ve picked up each broken part

You are faithful to finish what You started
The good work You began, You’ll complete
I am not what I was when I started And I’m not what I’m going to be
Your Word is forever established; You are faithful to carry me through
Every year, every day, every hour You are making me more like You

Lord, some days I feel like giving in To throw in the towel and give up
Unable to feel Your Presence; to feel Your love
But the Truth is not based on my feelings
I choose to stand by faith That You are more than able to bring me
The rest of the way

You are faithful to finish what You started
The good work You began, You’ll complete
I am not what I was when I started And I’m not what I’m going to be
Your Word is forever established You are faithful to carry me through
Every year, every day, every hour You are making me more like You

You are faithful to finish what You started
The good work You began, You’ll complete
I am not what I was when I started And I’m not what I’m going to be
Your Word is forever established; You are faithful to carry me through
Every year, every day, every hour You are
WE COME TO YOU

In the beauty of the broken we come to You
In the fellowship of our failings we come to You
In this sea of human weakness we come to You
We come to You

In the messiness of our natures we come to You
In the company of strangers we come to You
As a people who need a savior we come to You
We come to You

With the honest and transparent we come to You
With the scars of past relations we come to You
As Your chosen generation we come to You
We come to You

You see right through to the deepest part
You see our thoughts, You know our hearts
And yet You’ve called us as we are
As we are
You’ve known each one before the world began
Our hope and future’s found within Your plan
You’re the only One Who truly understands
Understands

With a hunger for Your Presence we come to You
Undone in awestruck reverence we come to You
As our hearts cry, “Holy, Holy” we come to You
We come to You

You see right through to the deepest part
You see our thoughts, You know our hearts
And yet You’ve called us as we are
As we are
You’ve known each one before the world began
Our hope and future’s found within Your plan
You’re the only One Who truly understands
Understands

In the beauty of the broken we come to You
In the fellowship of our failings we come to You
In this sea of human weakness we come to You
We come to You
The Tide Of Your Love

As I come into Your Presence Bowing down in humble reverence
The holy Passion of Your Essence Drives my longing heart deeper still
Far beyond the “status quo” Deep within the River’s flow
To quench this thirst I know Only You can fill

So I plunge into the tide of Your love
Currents of Your mercy are washing over me
So I plunge into the tide of Your love
Where the Spirit of the Lord is there is liberty
Diving to Your depths of Truth and grace
How I long for the day when I see Your face
Oh how I long to feel true love’s embrace
Deep within the tide of Your love
Deep within the tide of Your love

As I come now to Your Presence You now lead me to green pastures
Breaking free from all my past years I surrender all I am to You now
You alone are God Creator You alone, the heart Remaker
Create in me a heart of flesh Take away this heart of stone

So I plunge into the tide of Your love
Currents of Your mercy are washing over me
So I plunge into the tide of Your love
Where the Spirit of the Lord is there is liberty
Diving to Your depths of Truth and grace
How I long for the day when I see Your face
Oh how I long to feel true love’s embrace
Deep within the tide of Your love
Deep within the tide of Your love
THE HEAVENS DECLARE YOUR GLORY

THE GALAXIES ALL SPIN IN PRAISE,
THE HEAVENS DECLARE YOUR GLORY
THE QUAZARS BURST IN CELEBRATION
AT THE WONDER OF WHO YOU ARE
THE UNIVERSE TAKES SECOND STAGE IN CELESTIAL EXALTATION
TO THE ONE WHO SET THE STARS IN PLACE
AND I’M AMAZED THAT ONE SO GREAT
COMES TO ME TO me, TO Meet HIM IN THIS PLACE

AND MY WORLD IS BLOWN APART
AT THE WONDER OF WHO YOU ARE
HOW YOU HUMBLED YOURSELF SO WE COULD BE TOGETHER
ALL MY SIN, SHAME, AND DISCRACE
YOU BORE ON THE CROSS WHERE YOU TOOK MY PLACE
AND MADE A WAY SO I COULD COME TO YOU
WHERE THE LOVE OF GOD FOR ME HAS BROKEN THROUGH
I LOVE YOU LORD, OH JESUS, I LOVE YOU

THE PLANETS DANCE IN TIME AROUND THE STARS
THE COMETS FLY THEIR BANNERS FOR YOUR GLORY
THE SATELLITES REFLECT THE LIGHT YOU GIVE
EACH SUN A PALE SHADOW OF YOUR SPLENDOR
THE ELEMENTS HOLD TOGETHER BY YOUR WORD
YOUR POWER KEEPS THE UNIVERSE TOGETHER
EVERY DAY OF LIFE IS A GIFT FROM YOU
EACH DETAIL REVEALS YOU AS CREATOR

AND MY WORLD IS BLOWN APART
AT THE WONDER OF WHO YOU ARE
HOW YOU HUMBLED YOURSELF SO WE COULD BE TOGETHER
ALL MY SIN, SHAME, AND DISCRACE
YOU BORE ON THE CROSS WHERE YOU TOOK MY PLACE
AND MADE A WAY SO I COULD COME TO YOU
WHERE THE LOVE OF GOD FOR ME HAS BROKEN THROUGH
I LOVE YOU LORD, OH JESUS, I LOVE YOU

And run to You will all my heart
and arms flung open wide
With holy zeal I earnestly press
to where true love abides
BEACON OF TRUTH

I’ve walked down the halls of religion
Grew up in the shadows of traditions of men
Thinking I was one of the upright
Believing I was truly abiding in Him
Then Your Truth came alive in Your Word and Your witness
Your Spirit pierced through with the Light of Your love
Showing the way—I must trust in Your grace
Flooding my life with Your love

You’re my Beacon of Truth in a sea of deceptions
A light to my way past the doctrines of men
A Bright Ray of Hope freed from temporal delusion
You’re my Savior and Lord, My God and my Friend

I’ve read through the Bible’s pages
Only to back up the opinions of men
But then Your Holy Spirit led me
To go and search through the scriptures again
Then Your Word came alive through Your life giving Spirit
The darkness fell off like scales from my eyes
Showing anew, the Word from God’s point of view
Opening my eyes to see

You’re my Beacon of Truth in a sea of deceptions
A light to my way past the doctrines of men
A Bright Ray of Hope freed from temporal delusion
You’re my Savior and Lord, My God and my Friend

Jesus, Light of my salvation
Jesus, Way and Truth and Life
Jesus, Lord of all creation
Jesus, I lift Your Name on high

You’re my Beacon of Truth in a sea of deceptions
A light to my way past the doctrines of men
A Bright Ray of Hope freed from temporal delusion
You’re my Savior and Lord, My God and my Friend

Over My Head In You
By R.Duncan Heinly

So many on the water’s shore hear the waves calling to come
Most are content to get their feet wet
In the shallows is where they run
But You call me out even deeper to the bottomless depths of Your Love
Once I have passed through the crimson tide,
The shallows are never enough

I am over my head in You
You passion envelopes my heart and my soul
Over my head in You, I surrender my will to Your merciful hold
The old man has drowned in the deep
The new made alive in this life giving Sea
Unburdened, my heart is now free. I am over my head in You

Discerning the current’s flow, Following the waters course
My heart earnestly longing to go Upwards to the river’s source
Though obstacles come Pressures build to keep me back
I press on to that goal And I will not get off track ‘till

I am over my head in You
You passion envelopes my heart and my soul
Over my head in You, I surrender my will to Your merciful hold
The old man has drowned in the deep
The new made alive in this life giving Sea
Unburdened, my heart is now free. I am over my head in You
HIDE AND SEEK
By R.Duncan Heinly

It’s hide and seek with higher stakes at the house just two doors down.
The ten year old tormented child trying not to be found
Sworn to keep the secret and feeling all the blame
Taking responsibility for what’s more than just a game

For three years it’s been going on and he hasn’t told a soul
Angrily he suspects that his mother surely knows
It tears him up to think that he, by telling someone outside
Could tear apart the family. So once again he hides.

Strange behavior seen at school raises up red flags
The teacher calls a conference with the mom and dad
Explanations sweep the truth away with outright lies
Any hope of his salvation fades away and dies

Who will save this troubled child? What, Lord, can we do?
How can we be certain we have ascertained the truth?
I pray, Lord, for the children all across the land
Taking responsibility for what they don’t understand

Years have passed, the child is grown, the damage has been done
Living with anxiety, lost and all alone.
Floods of mixed emotions torment him every day
Praying to an unknown God to take it all away

Who can save this troubled man? Lord it can only be You.
Reveal Your love and mercy and bring freedom by Your Truth
I pray for grown up children all across this land
Caught in sinful cycles that they just don’t understand
HELP ME ON THIS JOURNEY

By R. Duncan Heinly

(I wrote this on behalf of those who are trying to get back into society after coming out of prison)
I did my time, paid up in years for mistakes I’ve made
And now that I’m out I am afraid that I might lose my way
I can’t have my old friends around. They would only bring me trouble.
I need new friends to help me now and I need them on the double.

Can you help me on this journey, Help me get back on my feet
I am willing to do better, Just don’t leave me on the street
Please support me though I am free yet I feel in bondage still
Please work with me to get started ‘cause my journey’s all uphill.

I’ve been cut off from the world
Can’t believe how much has changed
I’ll need help in catching up
If I’m to make an honest gain

Can you help me on this journey, Help me get back on my feet
I am willing to do better, Just don’t leave me on the street
Please support me though I am free yet I feel in bondage still
Please work with me to get started ‘cause my journey’s all uphill.

TRUE LOVE
By R.Duncan Heinly

She’s worked the streets since Junior High
When she ran away from home
It’s what she did to pay her rent and stay out of the cold
She never thought that anyone would take the time to care
But one day she met Jesus and He took her out of there

She found love, love like she’s never known before
Purest love from Jesus Christ her Lord
Once bound in sin and shame, now set free in Jesus’ Name
Now and forever she has found her True Love

He’s danced in clubs since seventeen, like meat up on the stage
Trapped in a world of hungry wolves—His life: a prison cage
He never thought that anyone would take the time to care
But one day he met Jesus and He took him out of there

He found love, love like she’s never known before
Purest love from Jesus Christ his Lord
Once bound in sin and shame, now set free in Jesus’ Name
Now and forever he has found his True Love

Whatever path you’ve taken, whatever price you’ve paid
God’s grace is even greater; give Him Your heart today

And you’ll find love, love like you’ve never known before
Purest love from Jesus Christ our Lord
Once bound in sin and shame, be set free in Jesus’ Name
Now and forever you can find your True Love
AM I ALIVE?
By R.Duncan Heinly

Am I alive; do you see me now?
Do you even have a clue that I am around?
Am I alive? Prove that I am here.
Hear me, see me, know me, love me, Show me that you care.

The blade slides across the skin—scarlet drips upon the floor
Another desperate attempt just to feel alive once more.
The burn marks on my shoulder I hope know one else will see
My continual attempts at being more than empty

Am I alive; do you see me now?
Do you even have a clue that I am around?
Am I alive? Prove that I am here.
Hear me, see me, know me, love me, Show me that you care.

Hiding in the closet are putrid jars of vanity’s shame
Wanting to be found worthy I will skip a meal again
Scales announce the verdict—TEN POUNDS OVER—must lose more
As I see the mirrors image of the excess fat I store

Am I alive; do you see me now?
Do you even have a clue that I am around?
Am I alive? Prove that I am here.
Hear me, see me, know me, love me, Show me that you care.

Reaching for the battle to finally feel okay
Just a few more glasses to pass the time away
Trying to forget the loneliness and pain
By getting to the place that I don’t even know my name
Am I alive; do you see me now?
Do you even have a clue that I am around?
Am I alive? Prove that I am here.
Hear me, see me, know me, love me, Show me that you care.

DISPOSABLE BELIEVERS

By R.Duncan Heinly

Disposable believers—we toss them all aside
If they will not measure up, with us they can’t abide
They try their hardest to arrive
But years of habits still collide
To keep them from the other side
And so we leave them out to die

Disposable believers—for them we have no time
Why bother with the one—we still have the ninety nine
Some of them appear unkempt
Some are socially inept
Some are deeply stuck in debt
Would losing one cause us regret?

Disposable believers—inconvenient; in our way
If we invest ourselves in them then surely we will pay
Taking up our precious time
All they do is gripe and whine
Our resources they will bind
And we don’t get time to unwind

Disposable believers—it’s time for show and tell
See the famous people that we rescued from hell
But when the act becomes a snare
And they choose not to perform there
With dollar signs no longer shared
And so for them we just don’t care

Disposable believers—The harvest in the fields
Our Itty-bitty garden could never grow such yields
The broken and outsider
The foreigner and stranger
The sick and the endangered
Looking for the Life Changer

Disposable believers, when seen through Jesus eyes
Don’t look much different than what’s behind our disguise
How dare we judge who can be saved
How dare we stand and block the way
Just who are we anyway
Sinners saved by God’s grace

Testimony

Testimony

Here’s a brief version of my testimony

In the mid 70’s the Jesus People Movement impacted the Melbourne area. As a result of the impact this had on the community and the witness of Judy Anne Sherfy, I surrendered my heart to the Lord September 1976. I did so during a youth lock-in at around 5AM Saturday morning.

I grew up with a verbally abusive and emotionally distant father who was prone to sudden mood swings.

Being one of eight siblings I disappeared into the crowd, most of the time having parents forget my name and going through the list until they got to it.

When I was five I experienced some traumatic events most of which have been blocked from my memory.

I was awkward, sensitive, intelligent, artistic, and overweight with an overdeveloped sense of modesty.

At puberty which started early, my need for connecting with the same sex became eroticized.

As a Christian I found this horrifying. I also was deeply disappointed due to easy believism that led to unrealistic expectations.

I experienced the labeling in Junior High and stayed clear of the whole public shower scene.

I was a “popular loner” who had a congregation of those who didn’t fit in with the surfers, rednecks, jocks, or preppies.

In college I began to “come out” to a few friends about my struggle with same sex attraction. Somehow I managed to target those who also struggled in this area, and we formed a sort of loose support network.

In 1984 I gave into temptation and had a brief physical relationship that I broke off within two weeks. Later that year I went through counseling at the church I was attending and started with others organizing a campus ministry (not a support group, a general Christian ministry for those at Brevard Community College).

In 1986 I entered into an emotional dependent relationship that caused me to fail all my courses that semester.

Around this time I heard Sy Rogers share his testimony and found out about “Be Whole Ministries’ which would then become Eleutheros and then Exchange Ministries. I didn’t have transportation and was too fearful of being found out to find a way to get there.

Eventually I had become addicted to gay pornography via the internet.

After many years of repression, oppression, expression and regression I got to the end of myself. To the place of confession.

Between what felt like a nervous breakdown and the anger from the unblocking of repressed memories I finally gave up trying.

When I gave up trying to fix myself and put it all in the Lord’s hands, suddenly I found one breakthrough after another.

At that time Soar With Him Ministries formed at Calvary Chapel Melbourne.

Soon after that it seemed that most major ministries to those struggling with SSA were moving their headquarters into my neck of the woods.

I connected with Alan Chambers at Exchange Ministries in Orlando through the Exodus Website. (Soar With Him Ministries actually started as a group under Exchange Ministries.)

I am now assistant Director of Soar With Him Ministries at Calvary Chapel Melbourne which provides a safe environment for those seeking freedom from unwanted same sex attractions.

CALLED TO HOLINESS

You’ve called me, Lord, to holiness In everything I do
You’ve called me, Lord, to holiness Set apart for You

You’ve called me, Lord, to holiness In everything I do
You’ve called me, Lord, to holiness Set apart for You

My nature was contrary to the plans You have for me
I was set up for a stumble for I was Your enemy
Then I heard Your Spirit calling; I received Your Gift of Love
Through the Blood You poured out for me And by faith in You I come

You’ve called me, Lord, to holiness In everything I do
You’ve called me, Lord, to holiness Set apart for You

Survival of the fittest Was how I lived my life
Fighting for significance, trying to do what’s right
But in everything I worked at it was never good enough
Now you’ve taken the focus off of me and placed it on Your love

You’ve called me, Lord, to holiness In everything I do
You’ve called me, Lord, to holiness Set apart for You

I thought I had to measure up to gain access to Your throne
I feared Your wrath and rejection as I faced my life alone
But Your Love surrounds me like a flood, not for anything I did
You changed my heart from old to new and now through Christ, I live

You’ve called me, Lord, to holiness In everything I do
You’ve called me, Lord, to holiness Set apart for You

You’ve called me, Lord, to holiness In everything I do
You’ve called me, Lord, to holiness Set apart for You
JOURNEY TO FREEDOM

You want to be free but don’t want to be known
You’re wearing a mask that isolates you—alone
There is help to be found, hands reach out it’s true
Offering real hope, showing god’s love for you

Don’t hold back, don’t draw away For this could be that day
The first day on your journey to freedom
Don’t stop short—caught in fear He is calling you near
To walk with Him on your journey to freedom

You’re posing yourself as a strong mighty tower
But hidden inside, you’re still stuck in the mire
Confessing your faults to another will bring
Help to lighten the load on the path to healing

Don’t hold back, don’t draw away For this could be that day
The first day on your journey to freedom
Don’t stop short—caught in fear He is calling you near
To walk with Him on your journey to freedom

On your journey to freedom, each day shining brighter
From glory to glory, climbing higher and higher
On your journey through Jesus to abundance of Life
Freedom’s only found in complete surrender to Christ

Don’t hold back, don’t draw away For this could be that day
The first day on your journey to freedom
Don’t stop short—caught in fear He is calling you near
To walk with Him on your journey to freedom

Don’t hold back, don’t draw away For this could be that day
The first day on your journey to freedom
Don’t stop short—caught in fear He is calling you near
To walk with Him on your journey to freedom
LORD HELP ME TO STAND

They have fallen to the left, they have fallen to the right
In trials and tribulations they’ve given up the fight
Once ambassadors of grace, they no longer seek your face
They didn’t get their way and so they went astray

Lord, help me to stand, for I have seen a better man
Turn from you and walk away
I’m broken now, Lord be my might
Help me through my daily fight.
For the glory of Your grace.

Shepherds fall scattering the flock,
Christian idols stumble and fall
To be seen by one and all
Once the representatives of Truth
But truth always illumines
That all we are is still human

Lord, help me to stand, for I have seen a better man
Turn from you and walk away
I’m broken now, Lord be my might
Help me through my daily fight.
For the glory of Your grace.
DISPOSABLE BELIEVERS

Disposable believers—we toss them all aside
If they will not measure up, with us they can’t abide
They try their hardest to arrive
But years of habits still collide
To keep them from the other side
And so we leave them out to die

Disposable believers—for them we have no time
Why bother with the one—we still have the ninety nine
Some of them appear unkempt
Some are socially inept
Some are deeply stuck in debt
Would losing one cause us regret?

Disposable believers—inconvenient; in our way
If we invest ourselves in them then surely we will pay
Taking up our precious time
All they do is gripe and whine
Our resources they will bind
And we don’t get time to unwind

Disposable believers—it’s time for show and tell
See the famous people that "we" rescued from hell
But when the act becomes a snare
And they choose not to perform there
With dollar signs no longer shared
And so for them we just don’t care

Disposable believers—The harvest in the fields
Our Itty-bitty garden could never grow such yields
The broken and outsider
The foreigner and stranger
The sick and the endangered
Looking for the Life Changer

Disposable believers, when seen through Jesus eyes
Don’t look much different than what’s behind our disguise
How dare we judge who can be saved
How dare we stand and block the way
Just who are we anyway
Sinners saved by God’s grace
IF I TRULY LOVE YOU

If I truly love you and want what is best for you
How could I tolerate the lies that cause you pain
So many voices defending bad choices
Like an umbrella blocking out the healing rain

If I truly love you and want what is best for you
If I have the Truth then shouldn’t I give it to you?
Loving direction, instructional protection
Divine revelation of God’s love for you

If I truly love you and want what is best for you
And I know the answer to your pain and your sorrow
Should I keep it in check to be politically correct
Or risk love’s call with new hope for tomorrow

If I truly love you and want what is best for you
Then what God did for me I’d want also for you
He freed me and changed me, His love remade me
He’s called me and bought me and brought me to you.
YOU THINK THAT IT’S NORMAL
By R. Duncan Heinly

You think that it’s normal, precious woman bound in shame
You love your spouse too much to bring dishonor to his name
Your visits to the doctors are covered up in lies
And more than once they knowingly have seen through your disguise

You think that it’s normal, that’s just the way things are
Wearing plastic images to hide the battle scars
Pain’s the only thing you know and you dare not hope for freedom
The chains of guilt and false blame have you in their keeping

You think that it’s normal, the beatings you’ve received
He tells you that it’s all your fault and that’s what you believe
You tip toe through the hours wondering what next it will take
To trigger more beatings to correct so-called mistakes

You think that it’s normal to live in isolation
You assume it’s status quo all across the nation
You think that it’s typical and you could never get out
No hope for a better life than the prison of your house

You think that it’s normal but I tell you it’s not
The shame and condemnation are lies that you have bought
You are heaven’s treasure and God’s love is reaching down
He wants to lift you from the pit and onto higher ground

“Love, honor, and respect in sickness and in health
In whatever circumstance be it poverty or wealth”
These words are not a license for slavery and abuse
For the sake of your life get out today and find freedom in the truth

You aren’t helping him one bit by staying in that hell
Once he sees you’re serious maybe he could get some help
One rarely acts out violently without first being conditioned
If you love him then get out and don’t wait for his permission

All have sinned and fallen short—no one can throw stones
Be it from a podium or the privacy of home
Jesus calls His wounded bride—God is jealous for your life
He can free you from the tyranny over an abused and imprisoned wife

There are confidential places of understanding and respect
To help on your healing road; your dignity they’ll protect
They shelter and they educate with encouraging words of life
To help lift you from your dark despair through the Love of Jesus Christ
CAPTIVITY UNSPOKEN
By R. Duncan Heinly

Every Sunday morning he goes to church again
Hoping for a Word to bring his searching to an end
Longing to find healing from his captivating sin
But if they knew his secret would they still love him
Pride and resolution keep the tears dry in his eyes
Guarding inner brokenness he stores down deep insid
eThe wounding of rejection shows in his need to please
Such a shiny polished image to hide his soul’s disease

Now he hears the pastor with polished preaching prose
(Who thinks his congregation would never have one of those)
Us and them theology he hears now in that place
Oh how he longs for freedom in a place he could feel safe
Then comes careless humor, they all laugh and they applaud
Malicious cutting joking from the “messenger of God”
Then angry words paint pictures of a God of wrath and hate
Who will show God’s love to him before it is too late?

He bumps into a witness with a scripture battle axe
With a cookie cutter message, armed with condemnation tracts
The witness seeks another soul to notch his bible cover
Clueless of what Jesus meant by loving one another
The broken man now turns away, his heart a little harder
If the witness has no love for him, then why even bother
If only he could find someone with answers for his pain
Why was he unwanted by those who bear Christ’s Name?

His friend at the Bible study that she goes to every week
Waiting for someone to hear the words she’ll never speak
The pain she hides within her heart is fearfully guarded
From years of abuse and pain and wounds from the callous hearted
Juggling superficial topics, she never goes too deep
Terrified one day they’ll see that she is really weak
Never willing to open up, her scars have sealed her tight
Making sure the real her remains hidden from all sight

She attends her Sunday group with women like herself
Outside looks like heaven, inside feels like hell
Each one seeks the catalyst to open up the seal
And speak the secret hidden hurts laid out to be healed
But the hour ticks away with eggshells on the floor
When the hours over they escape through the classroom door
Decades of the elephants sitting in our family rooms
Everyone avoiding falling in the open tombs

Where can he find healing? Where can she find love?
Where can they find the Rock of Truth when their times are tough?
What would Jesus do and would we do the same?
Declare freedom to the captive and deliverance in His Name
To heal the brokenhearted, set the prisoner free
Forgive the unforgivable and love unconditionally
Support the one who’s weak, bear the burdens of the broken
To be a people who bring hope for captivity unspoken

When God Comes In Revival By Charles G. Finney

A revival breaks the power of the world and of sin over Christians. It brings them to such vantage ground that they get a fresh impulse toward heaven. They have a new foretaste of heaven and new desires after union with God; and the charm of the world is broken, and the power of sin overcome.
When the churches are thus awakened and reformed, the reformation and salvation of sinners will follow, going through the same stages of conviction, repentance, and reformation. Their hearts will be broken down and changed. Very often the most abandoned profligates are among the subjects. Harlots and drunkards and infidels and all sorts of abandoned characters are awakened and converted. The worst among human beings are softened, and reclaimed, and made to appear as lovely specimens of the beauty of holiness.
"O Lord, revive thy work in the midst of the years, in the midst of the years make known, in wrath remember mercy" ( Hab. 3:2).
